Not ignoring you either, internet stranger! I almost never bike into Manhattan and while I like the waterfront up in Williamsburg I get bike envy when I go up there because I have a pretty dorky bike.
I do like taking Shore Road down to Coney and beyond. Ocean Parkway and the Shore Parkway are easy but they’re also sort of boring. Shore Road is parallel to the Shore Parkway, but on the other side of the Belt Parkway and above it — you can see down to the greenway and the river from up there. There’s a bike lane on Shore Road itself but I usually ride on the promenade above the park (which is probably illegal) and you can dip down into the park in a number of places. The neighborhood is also much fancier than Ocean, which is fun.
I’ve been wanting to do the ride around Jamaica Bay for a long time, but I’m lazy and it’s cold out.
